Surveys have been sent! 📋 🌋

The tiny dinos with little clipboards stapled to their heads were let loose a few weeks ago! We've sent out surveys to all backers to provide any last-minute item choices and shipping addresses. This is important information that we need to know before sending out your games and kits. Please check your email inboxes for the Backerkit survey and fill your survey out ASAP! The final deadline to fill out your survey is in July, but the sooner you fill out the survey, the sooner your rewards arrive at your door. 

Please let me know if you cannot find your survey link, as I can send out a new one for you!

The Craftable Version was hit with a tsunami of updates! 🌊 🖨️

We've updated the Craftable landing page to include a few new printable options for Lava Run!

First are new downloadable Printable Dino Pieces in both full color and color-in versions. These are designed to cut out and glue together to make your own dinos straight from the printer.

Second, an H2O-NO Printable Version is now available for all backers! From the Craftable landing page you can find all the rules, tiles, and bonus dinos available for download and at-home printing to add to your games. Heads-up – these bonus tiles and rules are meant to add a lot of chaos to the game, so please proceed with caution!

You can find all these new files linked at the bottom of this update and included in your rewards after filling in the Backerkit survey. (You'll need to be logged in to Backerkit to access the link on this update*)

A Deep Dive Into New Tiles 🦴☔️

Let's take a closer look at some of the new tiles in the H2O-NO Expansion pack! By the way, you can see all the updates in the full rulebook linked on the Craftable landing page (linked below).

• Tar Pit - This tile can be played on any open square on the board or on an enemy dino. Any dino coming into contact with a Tar Pit tile must skip their next movement phase, but must still place tiles on their next turn. The Tar Pit tile is discarded after being activated.
  These tiles are great for controlling the flow of the game and where dinos can move, without fully blocking yourself in! There are 3 of these that you can add to your game in the expansion!

• Rainstorm - Immediately remove 3 lava flow tiles from anywhere on the board and return
  them to the volcano.
  The perfect defense tile, helping to clear your way to the end! There are only 2 of these added with the expansion pack.

• Hurricane - All dinos much switch spaces! Each player moves their dino into the space of the player to their left until every dino has switched spots.
  Perhaps the most chaotic, and powerful additions, this tile makes every dino switch spots! Because it's so powerful only the most courageous dinos should add this to their volcanos!

Speaking of custom dinos, I'm still waiting to hear back from some people who are receiving a custom crocheted dino from me. These would be through either an add-on reward, or by winning one throughout the campaign. I've been making a series of these custom dinos in livestreams and many are ready to ship, so please reach out if you haven't heard from me!

🎨 Art Updates! 🦖

The art for Lava Run is complete and manufacturing is underway! After playing many many many games on the prototype board, we made a few design changes to the box and art. Here's what's new:

Classic Game Updates:

• Jump Tile  - We received some feedback that the Jump tile art was slightly confusing, so we made it more obvious that it is an event tile, not a tile to play and leave on the board.
• Board Change - We adjusted the board design in a few ways: 1) We made it more obvious where the finish line is, 2) we changed the logo at the top, and 3) we made it more clear where to add lava at the start of the game. 
• Rule Book Finalized - The classic rule book has been completed! Changes include more clarifications and some re-wording of rules, added Co-Op rules, and changing the book to be square so it will fit inside the volcano box better. No big rule changes besides adding in the Co-Op rules, but it looks so gooood, I'm really proud. You can find a preview of the final rule book here!
• Updated Packaging - The inner box that stores dinos and tiles is now a lot easier to open, we also made some slight box art changes, but I'll keep that a secret for now.
• New Sticker Sheet Added - Now the game comes with a sheet of stickers featuring the game art, from dinos to astroids, and some fun surprises!
  
  
  
  

🌊 H2O-NO! - Art is complete!! 🌋

I'm proud to say, the art and design are all complete for the full H2O-NO Expansion Pack! Extra special thanks to our artist, Dominic Rieniets, for whipping these up so quick! The expansion pack will be included as an optional upgrade with your game during the survey. Unfortunately, the packs were too expensive to include with every game, but I'm keeping the price low for anyone who originally backed the project. Here's what's included in the H2O-NO Expansion pack:

• 4 New Dinos - The Brontosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Plesiosaur, and Dilophosaurus are all new dinos to play with! Each dino has their own special ability as well.
• 9 New Event Tiles - New tiles like the Tsunami, Hurricane and Tornado give our dinos even more chaos and calamity to avoid as they run away from the volcano!

🗳️ Survey and Shipping Updates 🚚

Because we won't be ready for fulfillment until next year, we're waiting to send out the surveys until January/February. This is mostly because we're trying to find fulfillment centers in different countries to bring down costs, and it's best to gather survey info just before shipping.

So far, we've found fulfillment options with nearly half the estimated shipping cost for customers in Australia, New Zealand, England, and most of Europe! I'll keep you in the loop, but just know that if you live outside of the US, I'm looking for the best options possible for you!

The shipping timeline for Lava Run has not changed, it's just the survey timing that has changed. Expect this survey - which confirms your shipping address and any add-on purchases -  around January/February.
